This time the UN is going to start a humanitarian rescue operation in Afghanistan. Stephen Dujarric, a spokesman for the company, confirmed the information.
From next Sunday (September 5), three aircraft will operate in the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif. The city is located at an important place between the Pakistan border and Kandahar.
That is why the UN has chosen the place for humanitarian cooperation. The flights will run under the World Food Program.
Meanwhile, after a meeting with Taliban leaders in Qatar, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said the Taliban had agreed to allow safe evacuation of stranded British and at-risk Afghans. The United States is also working to evacuate about 200 Americans.
