Turkey is likely to be banned in the Mediterranean debate. The decision may be taken at a meeting of European foreign ministers in the European Union on December 10.
According to the Deutsche Welle, a meeting was held between the foreign ministers of the various countries of the European Union to discuss the imposition of sanctions on Turkey.
German Foreign Minister Heiko Moss said there was no way Turkey could behave without imposing sanctions on it. The foreign ministers will meet again on the 10th. That is where the decision can be made.
France also wants the EU to impose sanctions on Turkey. Recently there has been controversy between Turkey and France over the killing of teachers in France. Since then, France has demanded that sanctions be imposed on Turkey.
The European Union could suspend arms trade with Turkey if sanctions are imposed. Sanctions may also be imposed on oil and minerals.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that no plans or maps will be allowed to be implemented in the Eastern Mediterranean except Turkey. He said any plan to deprive Turkey of its rights in the region would not be acceptable.
