Residents of Japan will receive the corona vaccine for free

Under a bill passed in Japan on Wednesday, all residents of the country will receive the coronavirus vaccine free of charge. Meanwhile, the country is dealing with a record number of corona infections on a daily basis.

After Japan’s powerful lower house passed the bill, it was approved by the upper house of parliament. The bill states that the government will bear all the costs of the corona vaccine for Japan’s 126 million inhabitants.

Pfizer, Japan’s largest pharmaceutical company, has confirmed the Covid-19 vaccine for 80 million people. In addition, they have confirmed the corona vaccine for 25 million more people from biotech company Modern.

The Japanese government has said it will receive 120 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Pfizer and Moderna have already applied for emergency use of their vaccines in the United States and Europe. They apply to get effective results of their vaccine in the final or final stage clinical test.

The bill was passed two weeks after the country’s prime minister announced that Japan was on high alert for the coronavirus.

About 1.5 million people have been infected with the coronavirus in Japan so far and 2,100 people have died. The death toll in Japan is much lower than in other parts of the world.
