World leaders have already gathered at the COP 28 international climate conference. Held in Glasgow, Scotland, they pledged to stop using coal as a major fuel to prevent the release of carbon and greenhouse gases that are harmful to the environment. 190 states and institutions have agreed to this decision.
It is learned that after the decision, 190 countries and organizations have signed pledges. As promised, they will not set up any new coal-fired power plants in their country. Instead, eco-friendly process will be followed in power generation.
The signatory countries have further pledged that the coal projects currently in operation will be gradually converted into environmentally friendly power plants
