Nepali forces have been strongly instructed to monitor the movements of Indian troops

In the wake of rising tensions on the Indian border with China, the Nepalese government has instructed its forces to keep a close watch on the activities of Indian troops in the Lipulekh area.

Lipulekh is located at the junction of the Kalapani Valley in Uttarakhand at the junction of India, Nepal and China.

The order was issued to the Armed Police Force (NAPF) of Nepal in an order issued by the Home Ministry last week.

NAPF has 44 battalions deployed in Lipulekh area. They were asked to make long patrols in the border areas. Nepal fears conflict between India and China.

China has also increased its troop numbers in the Lipulkh region. 150 Light Combined Arms Brigade has been deployed near Trisong.

The brigade came here last month. New Chinese troops have also been sent to the Pala area, just 10 kilometers from the border.

Last July, China deployed 1,000 troops in the Pala area and set up a permanent base there.

More than 2,000 troops were sent there just two weeks ago, sources said.

When India built a road in Lipulekh area, Nepal got into a dispute with the country. Nepal claims three more Indian-occupied territories, including this one.

Kathmandu has also recently changed the constitution by adding areas to its map.

Tensions between India and China have been running high in several parts of the border since last May.

China has deployed three sectors of the LAC: West (Ladakh), Central (Uttarakhand and Himachal) and East (Sikkim, Arunachal) – Army, Cannon and Armored Vehicles.

India has also increased its strength on the border to resist China.
