Erdogan confirmed the news of the meeting with the Taliban

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Turkish officials have held a three-and-a-half-hour meeting with Taliban leaders in Kabul.

Erdogan said Turkey had met with the Taliban in Kabul for the first time. The Taliban’s offer to Turkey to operate Kabul airport is being evaluated.

“We are meeting for the first time with the Taliban,” he said. The meeting lasted about three and a half hours. Erdogan said further discussions would be held if necessary.

The Turkish president said the Taliban had made a request to operate Kabul airport. However, we have not yet made a decision in this regard. Because there is always the fear of death and accidents.

After 20 long years, the Taliban took control of the country without US and NATO troops.
